In the past 3 years, within the scope of the Jean Monnet Module on ınternational and European Protection of Human Rights (EUHR) we offered two courses:
- IR322 coded International and European Protection of Human Rights
- IR4022 coded Protection of Human Rights in the European Union and Turkey
250 Bilkent University students studied these courses and 59 of them have been successful to receive the Jean Monnet certificate.
Numerous experts held seminars and webinars about diverse aspects of human rights protection in Turkey and the EU.
3 roundtable sessions were held by which we understood more about practical, legal, political, economic and sociological aspects of human rights protection.
2 SSCI articles were published, one in Turkish Studies and the other in the Southeast European and Blacksea Studies.
As a result of the valuable research and insights gained through the Jean Monnet Module, I am pleased to share that my forthcoming book, on the role of human rights in EU-Turkey relations over the last decade. The monograph is on its way to publication by the esteemed Central European University Press (CEUP). This work reflects the culmination of years of academic engagement and dialogue on a critical aspect of EU-Turkey relations, and I look forward to its contribution to the ongoing scholarly conversation.
We are excited to continue contributing to the shared European values and look forward to even greater opportunities for collaboration and learning in the future.
